Delete your account

You can delete your account whenever you like, from inside the app. Here is how — and exactly what happens to everything you wrote.

Deleting from the app

Open Dating Diaries and sign in You need to be signed in to the account you want to delete.
Tap your profile picture, top right That opens the settings menu.
Choose “Delete my account” It sits at the bottom of the menu.
Confirm We ask once, because after the 30 days below this cannot be undone.

You have 30 days to change your mind. Your account is deactivated straight away and disappears from the app and from your friends’ Diaries. Sign in again within 30 days and everything comes back exactly as it was.

After 30 days it is erased for good — by you, and by us.

What gets deleted

When the 30 days end, we permanently delete:

Your account and sign-in details
Your profile — name, age and photo
Everyone in your Roster and Draft, with their photos, notes, flags and icks
Your dates and calendar entries
Your diary entries and your Spill the Tea conversations
Your chats with friends, including photos and voice notes
Your friend connections, invitations, ratings and votes
Your notification settings and device records

What stays, and why

Two things do not vanish with your account, and it is only fair you know which:

Your friends’ own diaries. Ratings on your people go with your people. But anything a friend wrote inside their Diary belongs to them and stays in their account.
Basic security records. We may keep minimal sign-in and transaction logs for a short period where the law requires it. They contain no diary entries, chats or photos.

If you cannot open the app

Lost your phone, or cannot sign in? Email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. We may ask something only the account holder would know, so that nobody else can delete your Diary.

Put “Delete my account” in the subject. We reply within 30 days, usually the same week.

Uninstalling is not deleting

Removing the app from your phone leaves your account exactly where it was — your Diary will be waiting if you install it again. Use the steps above to delete it properly.
